Privacy
We ask almost nothing of you.
No account, no sign-up, no newsletter wall, and nothing stored on your phone or computer. Here is the whole of it.
What we count
We count how many people read the site and which pages they read, because we need to know whether any of this is worth continuing. For each page view we record:
- The page, and the time.
- Your state and country, worked out roughly from your connection. Not your town, not your address.
- Whether you are on a phone or a computer.
- The site that sent you here, if you followed a link from one.
- Which links and buttons were clicked, how far down the page you read, and how long you stayed.
What we don't
- Nothing is stored on your device. No cookies, no tracking pixels, no local storage. That is also why there is no irritating banner asking your permission for any.
- We do not keep your IP address. It is used once, in a one-way scramble, to tell one reader from another on a given day, and then it is gone. The scrambling key is thrown away and replaced every day, so the same person cannot be followed from one day to the next, and nothing we hold can be turned back into an address.
- We do not collect what you type. The calf calculator and the Cattle Square run in your browser. The weights, prices and cost of gain you enter are your business and are never sent to us or to anyone else.
- We do not sell or share any of it, and we do not run advertising networks or behavioural tracking on the site.
- We do not know who you are. There is no account to have, so there is no name, email or phone number attached to any of this.
Opting out
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we record nothing at all — not an anonymised row, nothing. Most privacy-focused browsers and extensions send one; in others it is a switch in the privacy settings. You do not have to ask us.
Because nothing we keep is tied to you, there is nothing personal to request a copy of or to delete. If you think that is wrong in your case, write to info@bluestemdigital.com and we will look into it.
Who else is involved
The site is hosted by Vercel, which necessarily handles every request in order to serve the pages, and provides the aggregate traffic counts. Market figures come from the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service, which is public data and involves nothing about you. Measurement data is stored by us, on infrastructure we run. Nobody else receives it.
If you click through to YouTube, Facebook or Bluestem Digital from here, you are on their site under their terms from that point.
Embedded video
Some barn pages carry a video player from a streaming provider. Where one appears, that provider sees the request and may set its own cookies under its own policy — we have no control over that, and it is the one place on the site where something may be stored on your device.
Changes
If this changes, the date below changes with it. Last updated 22 October 2026.
See also our terms of use, which covers the market figures.
